Meeting Phyllida Anam-Aire brought me onto my path of healing. Again and again Phyllida has given me the strength to keep going. I've never met anyone like Phyllida. She makes me sit up and pay attention, at times, more than I could normally do in daily life, but at the same time it gives me ease to be in her company: I can't hide there, yet I'm also at home. I can open to myself and to life. Things flow in my life when I've spent time with her. I think its her immediacy, and her refusal to play the games we are meant to play, the social niceties. She is real and tells you this is what we are here for. To be human, to be real, to feel.
It can be a huge relief to be in the presence of someone and realise you don't have to hide from yourself or others anymore. There is nothing about you to be ashamed of. You are infinitely loveable.
