Celtic Wise Woman Gathers Us In for Rare Concert

Phyllida Anam-Aire, one of the Celtic world’s hidden gems, invites us to a rare Concert to be held in the Pearce Institute in Govan, Glasgow, on Saturday the 12th May 2018 from 3 to 5pm. This is to be the first and last time the Irish 70+ year old ever-young singer and shaman gives a concert in Glasgow, as she wants to dedicate the rest of her life to her grand child and to writing.

Phyllida will perform an acoustic set with a wide variety of her energising music from her many albums, including her latest release, ‘Gathered In’. Her music spans the decades and her variety of musical styles surpasses genre. One fan described her vocal quality as reminiscent of Bonnie Tyler.

Having grown up in Ireland in the hills of Donegal, Phyllida, a former nun who trained in psychotherapy with Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, has worked extensively with the sick and dying. Phyllida has trained hospice staff in Scotland, Germany and the Netherlands, and has been actively involved in prison work and the peace process in Northern Ireland. Until the end of 2018 she still runs workshops and retreats throughout Europe in the biology of dying and celtic spirituality, and works one to one as psychotherapist.

Apart from releasing albums of her transformational music, she is the author of several books, including "A Celtic Book of Dying" and "Celtic Wisdom and Contemporary Living” (all out of print because of high demand).

Phyllida's music is that of the soul, and she deeply moves people through her lifelong immersion in storytelling. Phyllida's music invites the listener into a profound appreciation of Life in all its forms, of death and dying, of loss and crying, and of full joy and freedom. It opens the heart to the lost wisdom of the ancient Celtic world.
